Enterprises may request for suspension of post-customs clearance inspection if they are facing difficulties caused by Covid-19

Official letter No. 3874/TCHQ-GSQL dated June 11th, 2020 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs regarding opinions about proposals for measures after Covid-19’s impacts.

The document is to reply to issues relating to post-customs clearance inspection and conditions concerning customs inspection and supervision upon establishment of an export processing enterprise (EPE)

Regarding the post-customs clearance inspection, the General Department of Vietnam Customs assumes that it shall carry out according to Directive No. 11/CT-TTg. Accordingly, it shall suspend the post-customs clearance inspection to evaluate the compliance with laws of enterprises. If an enterprise shows signs of violation and the inspection is required, the enterprise shall be informed in advance. In case the enterprise is facing difficulties because of impacts of Covid-19, it may request for delaying the inspection.

Regarding conditions concerning customs inspection and supervision, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has given Official letter No. 3778/TCHQ-GSQL dated June 9th, 2020.
